Vinexpo India and SIAL India host first Show together in Delhi

Dec 23: Vinexpo India, the Indian variant of Vinexpo, the leading global wine and spirits exhibition and SIAL India hosted their first joint exhibition in New Delhi on 9-11 December 2021 at Pragati Maidan Exhibition Center with over 7500 visitors, according to a Press Release. The first of its kind in India in the B2B space, it was jointly organized by Comexposium, Vinexposium and Inter Ads Exhibitions in Hall 11 of the recently upgraded venue

The three- day show had 119 exhibitors, 80 B2B meetings. It was inaugurated by Ms. Amanda Strohan, Deputy High Commissioner of Canada, Mr. Matthias Radosztics, Deputy Head of Mission at the Austrian Embassy, Mr. Eric Fajole, Trade Commissioner and Director of Business France for South Asia and Mrs. Rebecca Suchiang, Chief Secretary of Meghalaya.

The show hosted interesting masterclasses with experts from the F&B industry. An exceptional program of culinary events: demonstrations, live cooking classes with renowned chefs such as Mr. Manjit Singh Gill, President of IFCA hosted a cooking demo of forgotten Indian recipes whereas Chef Manisha Bhasin hosted a cooking demo for sustainable cooking.  Throughout the 3 days, besides the cooking demos, there were Hosted Buyer Meeting, Conferences and Award Shows

The maiden Vinexpo India show in Delhi had participation from 15 wine and spirit companies including Italy, Japan and Switzerland. It was the first time that two fruit wine companies had participated from Maharashtra and Karnataka in a wine show in Delhi. The exhibitors included the Karnataka Wine Board- the only wine-dedicated State Wine Board in the country. It also organised a Masterclass with an interesting blind tasting of 6 wines.

The Government of Meghalaya partnered SIAL India for this edition and also announced the dates for the North- East Food Show 2022, North-East's biggest food expo, in association with SIAL. Dr. Vijay Kumar D, IAS Commissioner & Secretary to the Govt. Meghalaya said, “The SIAL India food show is a wonderful opportunity for entrepreneurs to understand the markets and to make market connections. I am glad that several enterprises from Meghalaya are participating in this program. My compliments to the organizers and the entrepreneurs. We look forward to hosting the North East Food show in April 2022.”

The show hosted a program of masterclasses and tastings for the visitors. There were a total of 14 back-to-back Masterclasses organized at Vinexpo India by the Conference Chairman Subhash Arora, with each session attended by a full house and wine tasting at every session.

Kartie, a winemaker from Mizoram acknowledged that Vinexpo India had been a great experience! The masterclasses had proven to be truly beneficial. The event had been truly informational and knowledgeable and that he was looking forward to more events like this in the coming years.

Priyanka Save, Founder of Hill Zill Wines said that it was her first experience at an international wine show and she found several useful contacts. She was able to finalize with a distributor as well. Sandeep Sharma, General Manager of HPMC in Shimla said he was pleasantly surprised at the response and confirmed they would take part in Vinexpo Mumbai as well.

As already announced in the previous edition of delWine, Vinexpo India now moves to Mumbai, co-located with SIAL India on 10-12 May, 2022 at the Bombay Exhibition Center, conveniently located off the main highway, 25 minutes from the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. Mumbai is the financial capital of India and a major gateway for international trade. The economy is growing fast and the wine and spirits market is booming with a potential of 300 million consumers.
