Thanks to the newly announced quarantine rules by the Government in Delhi, it is not physically possible for Rod Lameyse, CEO of Comexposium, who had to once again cancel his visit after he could not be present physically for the proposed second meeting of the Wine Advisory Council of Vinexpo India last month. In a message from Paris Rod sent the message, ‘As you know, I cannot be among you due to the travel limitations. My heart is bleeding, missing this moment of work, excitement and joy together. I wish you all a fantastic event, have a lot of business connections and of course I will talk tomorrow at the opening of IWSR talk,’ while thanking Team Vinexpo India and InterAds Exhibitors, who have partnered the Shows with Comexposium.
In what was to be announced by Rod at the opening of Vinexpo India and SIAL India at inauguration on December 9 in Delhi, he concluded his message by saying, ‘I see you all for sure in May, in Mumbai.
SIAL India had already announced a couple of months ago about taking the Show to Mumbai on May 10-12. The organisers of Vinexpo India have now confirmed the Show will also be co-located with SIAL India, Mumbai on 10-12 May, 2022 (of course, one hopes Covid would be well in the past tense by then). The organisers have already booked the space for Vinexpo India in Mumbai.
In fact, Rajan Sharma, President of InterAds Exhibitors confirmed to delWine that they plan to take the Show to other cities in India as well and will be announcing dates and details by the end of the month.
Rod Lameyse has organised a live conference in Paris on December 9 at 10 am France Time (2:30 pm IST) which will be telecast live to the Masterclass. The Discussion in Paris will be moderated by Rod and will have Jason Holway, Senior Research Consultant, IWSR Drinks Market Analysis and Richard Halstead, COO Insights & Custom Analytics, Wine Intelligence in a discussion about India’s Road to Recovery- H1 2021 update on the Indian wine market in the context of the total alcohol beverage market
Rajeev Samant, Founder CEO of Sula Vineyards, the biggest and dominating wine producer of India has in the meantime, confirmed that he would deliver the Keynote Address at 12:30 pm on the same date December 9, where he will talk on the Current State & Future Prospects of Indian Wine Industry.
As arranged with most seminars, diversified wines will be available for tasting at both these seminars, confirmed Subhash Arora, Conference Chairman who had to do a balancing act to arrange 14 powerful Masterclasses with topical and interesting subjects. Also keeping in mind that no labels registered in Delhi could get the license to display or taste wines, a substantial number of importers and producers had to be refused participation. If one goes by the pre-registration figures, over 18,000 persons have done their registration though it is very difficult to assess the actual attendance as of today, according to Rajan Sharma, President of InterAds. Even the Masterclasses have been overbooked by 400% at the last count this evening, obliging the organisers to announcing on various platforms and individually calling and telling each registered visitor to reconfirm once they arrive each day.
Registrations have still not been closed since many important people for the exhibitors keep it for the last moment to register for the Masterclass Arrangements have been made, however, to accommodate as many people as possible, except tasting will be limited to only those who are registered into the Masterclass in which the wine is being served.
