FineWinesnMore walked away with 22 awards at the inaugural SIWC held in Mumbai a couple of days ago, including 2 Golds - the Charles VII Grande Cuvee from Champagne Canard Duchene and the IL Borro Rosso from (Ferragamo family), informs Dharti Desai.

Following is a list of their wines that won the award- perhaps the highest awards won by a single importer.

Mas de Daumas Gassac, the cult wine house from Languedoc region is perhaps the most exciting addition in the portfolio of FWM during the last year. The company which has developed a cult status during the last decade first participated in IFOWS in 2002 with a dismal interest from importers due to general ignorance.. It was a jewel waiting to be discovered.

Indian Wines Go Golden

York Reserve Shiraz, Nine Hills Shiraz and Four Seasons Viognier have won gold- out of a total of 18 gold medals awarded in all.

Following wines won the silver medal:

Four Seasons Sauvignon Blanc

Sula Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc 2008

Sula Vineyards Reserve Dindori Shiraz 2007

Sula Vineyards Riesling 2009

Zampa Sauvignon Blanc 2008

Out of about 400 wines entered in the competition, about 55% have been awarded some recognition, perhaps the highest percentage awarded in the global context.
