Oct 18: After organising Wine Future in 2009 and 2011 in Rioja and Hong Kong when he was a member of the Institute of Masters of Wine, Pancho Campo has announced the 3rd edition of one of the most successful wine events in the recent wine history, on 23-26 February, 2021 but thanks to Covid this will be a Zoom edition in which many celebrity speakers like Francis Ford Coppola and Irina Bokova, Secretary General for UNESCO have already confirmed to address online, writes Subhash Arora

The 3rd edition of Wine Future to be organised on 23-26 February 2021 will be totally virtual so you will miss out the wine tasting of 2009 vintage of Bordeaux by Robert Parker, special wines chosen by Jancis Robinson MW tasted at the second edition in Hong Kong and an opportunity to taste hundreds of wines that highlighted the event in 2011. But there will be plenty of action in terms of the latest knowledge in wine shared by the learned speakers, confirm the organisers- CHRAND.

Pancho Campo, founder of Wine Future, says, “Our 2009 and 2011 editions in Rioja and Hong Kong were very successful in answering many questions that wine professionals had about the severe economic recession the world was then facing. Wine Future 2021 returns with a large coterie of wine business’ most influential people, with the same spirit of sharing knowledge at a time that is even more threatening.”

The last edition of Wine Future 2011 was a roaring success that made Pancho Campo a rock star of the wine industry in event organisation. Who’s Who of the wine industry had been invited with Robert Parker being the sensational Speaker. Even Arora was invited to participate in a panel discussion about marketing in the West Asian countries with Debra Meiburg MW as the leader. He had noted in an Article in delWine, ‘If Pancho Campo MW came out as the wine rock-star at the Wine Future Hong Kong with his impressive audio-visual presentation and tasting of powerful Spanish wines, the Wine Maestro Robert Parker took a thousand connoisseurs through a magical journey through Bordeaux with ’09 Classified Growths, while Jancis Robinson MW took us on a trip Beyond Bordeaux with 17 wines.’

Even Jancis Robinson marvelled at the skill of Pancho Campo, who was then her colleague at the Institute of Masters of Wine, for collecting around 2000 people under the same roof with many of them being wine celebrities. It was a true privilege to be at this event to taste with this celebrity. At a later time, Pancho had resigned from the Institute for personal reasons, in effect ‘abdicating’ the throne that had him as the first Master of Wine from Spain at the time.
