Hotel India Moves: F & B Changes at Claridges and Hyatt

Feb 27: The Claridges Surajkund, Delhi NCR has appointed Cajetan  Araujo as the Director F & B while Kumar Shobhan returns after a brief stint at Dubai Park Hyatt to replace Puneet Baijal the Director F & B Hyatt Regency, who in turn has taken over the post at the Grand Hyatt Doha.

Cajetan whose previous assignment was with Fairmont, Dubai as the F & B Director, will be responsible for spearheading all the F&B initiatives at the newly opened Spa Hotel property of the Claridges hotel group, South of the Border. He has an extensive experience of over 15 years in the hospitality Industry and has been associated with leading hotels like Inter Continental Central Park South, New York and New York Palace. Cajetan, a Goan by birth is a culinary expert and has travelled to various wine regions of the world in pursuit of his passion for wine during his 20 year career, most of  which he spent in Europe, Middle East and the USA.

Cajetan is a graduate of Ecole Les Roches, Switzerland. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management from Johnsons and Wales University, USA with an Executive Leadership Certificate from Cornell.

Puneet Baijal, who had risen through the ranks to become the F & B Director at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Delhi over a year ago, has been given a more challenging assignment within the group to the bigger property and the more prestigious Grand Hyatt label, in Doha.

Kumar who had been sent to the Dubai Park Hyatt, barely a few months ago, was promoted and brought back ‘after careful deliberations and interviewing several people,’ says Baijal who handed him the charge a couple of days ago before boarding the flight to Doha yesterday, giving seamless continuity to the F & B- supposedly the most important revenue generating activity at the prime Delhi property.
