Sep 16: Fratelli wines that won the first Gold Medal for India at the well-known wine competition MundusVini in Germany in its debut year in September 2023, has scored another Gold medal, the second time for its J’NOON red wine this year at the same competition, taking it total tally of Gold medals to 3 in as many competitions and a total of 8 medals, including 5 silver Medals. Fratelli is all set to score a hat-trick next year if it wins a Gold medal for its J’Noon Red in the Summer edition of MundusVini in September 2026. It had won the coveted Gold for the first time in the same competition in 2023 for Sette 2021. It has quietly amassed a total of 8 medals- 3 in 2023, 4 in 2024 and the solitary Gold this year.
Fratelli wines won the first Gold Medal for its Sette 2021 at theMundusVini International Wine Competition in September 2023. Continuing its participation last year, it missed the Gold for Sette-settling for a Silver but winning a Gold for the 2022 Vintage of J’NOON, the most expensive wine in the Fratelli stable, and has done it again for the 2023 vintage of Z’NOON- making it 2 consecutive Golds for the wine label that is jointly owned by Fratelli and Jean Charles Boisset (JCB), owner of Boisset Collection in California.

Fratelli has thus won 8 medals for its premium wines in the 3 years since it started participating in this global competition that has two editions- the Spring edition at the February-end and Summer edition at August end-beginning September. The competition has eminent jurists from around 40 countries, judging around 12000 samples. These are early days for participation by Indian wines but one day they will be better recognised at this competition.

To put things in a better global wine perspective, Subhash Arora had conducted a couple of Masterclasses for Romanian wines in Delhi earlier this year at INRO India. Mostly unknown in India yet, the wines were nevertheless liked by a vast majority of attendees. The small country, now a part of the European Union, has won a total of 26 medals at MundusVini this year.
