Karan Vasani, who joined Sula as winemaker 11 years ago and rose from the ranks of Winemaker to Chief Winemaker and then also the Senior Vice President, and finally as COO of Sula Vineyards a year ago, has resigned from his position as Chief Operating Officer on October 22, as informed to the National Stock Exchange where it is mandatory to inform about all senior management changes.
Vasani has resigned for personal reasons. His last working day will be Friday 20th December 2024. ‘It has been an incredible journey over the past 11 years, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to grow within the company and contribute to its success. Sula has played a very significant role in both my professional and personal development, and I will always cherish the experiences and memories I have had here,’ he says.
Rajeev Samant, the Founder CEO of Sula has many complimentary things to say about Karan Vasani. ‘After a stellar 11-year innings at Sula, Karan has decided to move on for personal reasons. He has been a key member of the Sula team and during his tenure in Nasik Sula’s wines reached new heights especially our Rasa and Source series which have won medals and kudos all around. It’s never easy to fill the hole that such a key figure leaves behind but Karan has ensured a smooth transition by putting in place a superb team in charge of viticulture, vineyards, and winemaking operations.’

Rajeev also laments, ‘Personally, I will miss Karan a lot and I am ever grateful to him for his amazing contribution. ‘Very sad to see him move on but that’s life! 11 years is a big chunk of one’s working life to dedicate to one company and I couldn’t ask for more.’
The company has not yet announced the replacement for Karan.
