Vinitaly India Roadshow in Mumbai-Panaji on 16-18 January, 2026

The maiden edition of Vinitaly India Roadshow organised in Delhi on 7-8 March was organised by Veronafiere in conjunction with the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the Italian Embassy. It was immensely successful despite the limited time, reach and awareness. Cavaliere Subhash Arora had then opined that it had a huge potential for attracting many more wine stakeholders in future and hoped it would become a regular feature and extended even to Mumbai.
Panaji has become the X- factor, this time and perhaps will not yield the expected results. However, the organisers might have something up their sleeves, certainly not expecting the Bengaluru potential visitors or the Goa visitors who are also not expected visitors to Vinitaly.
Website of the organisers of Vinitaly, Veronafiere simply gives the dates and venue as 16/01 to 18/01 at Mumbai/Panaji. It is heartening to see it confirm the event as an annual feature. With increasing showcasing events of France and Australia, it would be only prudent to keep it an annual Show so that there can be more representation of Vinitaly in India and also the ‘pressure’ on Italian wines may be handled adequately.

Vinitaly expects significant growth in Indian wine consumption and increased market potential. Vinitaly is world’s largest wine exposition focused on Italian wines and Italian producers are very keen on this Show which has the same display area allocated to them, year after year and pay the rental charges a year in advance so that they may have the same stall every year. Vinitaly will hold its next edition in Verona on 12-15 April.

The Second edition of the earlier chronology was organised in Hotel Grand Maratha, Mumbai on 15 January, 2008 and Uppal’s Orchid on 18 January. Of course, this was before the Vinitaly Road Shows sprang up much later. Vinitaly mentions December 10 as the date for the venue in Delhi as the Date for the Roadshow at the Embassy. The Road Shows are being organised by the Italian Trade Agency (ITA)
