Delhi Hyatt Tops Times Awards

Hyatt Regency Delhi tops the number of awards won by a single establishment at the Times Food Guide Awards 2009 with 3 of its restaurants getting the top honours- The China Kitchen (Chinese), La Piazza (Italian) and the Cafe (coffee shop)

This is the second year in a row that all three restaurants get this top award.

Ritu Dalmia’s Divya also gets the honours for the Italian cuisine while Oberoi’s Three Sixty Degree gets the second Top Award for the Best Coffee Shop. Orient Express at the Taj Palace continues to be the best European cuisine while Sevilla at the Claridges delights with its Top Spanish cuisine award.

Dum Pukht and Bukhara continue to impress the Times Food Guide Team to give the top honours for North Indian food this year. So do Wasabi and Sakura for the Japanese cuisine.

Orient Express also gets the award for having the Best Wine List, though Smoke House Grill comes out with the Best Bar. If you love dancing, it may interest you to know that Agni at the Park still rocks. It has won the award for having the Best Bar with Dancing.

Fluid is the Best Bar in Noida. Manre has been chosen as the best in the New Bar category- the award was won by Rockman Beer Island in Gurgaon.

The Times Food Guide and the Time Nightlife Guide conduct the survey independently and come out with these awards at a dinner event full of hotel industry and the socialites. A D Singh, owner of Olive Beach and ai Restaurants loves to come for these awards. ‘This is my favourite event because all the best foods come under one roof every year,’ says the well known restaurateur.

The details for the awards can be seen on today’s edition of the Delhi Times.
