The drink is supposedly very popular in celebrity circles. Alberto Fernandez, director of the wine producers, Artesanos del Vino, said: "We have many rich and famous clients who will serve our product at their Christmas parties.
"It's made by mixing liquor containing silver dust into a sparkling rosé."
His company also sells wine laced with gold. He said: "Historically there have always been people looking for an elixir of eternal youth through gold. The Chinese, Greeks, Arabs and Indians all did it."
The fifty year old singing star is reportedly spending Christmas in England with ex-husband Guy Ritchie, 40, and 3 children after the couple were granted a divorce last month after seven-and-a-half years of marriage.
Why so much fuss about the beverage is hard to fathom. In India, Wine Legends is importing 'Gold' Chardonnay and also a Rosé variant which has specks of Gold and retails for around Rs. 2, 500-Rs. 3,000. You don't have to be a celebrity to enjoy it but it makes a nice celebratory drink without costing the earth for anyone- even for a bathroom singer-editor |
