The jury, made up of 39,000 travel agents, evaluated tour organisers and travel bureaus, as well as destinations, tourism products and tourism organisations. In the category Best Wine Travel Destination Europe, Austria took the prize, even competing with world famous wine regions such as Bordeaux and Tuscany.
The result is a co-ordinated efforts of Advertising Austria, New York with the Austrian Wine Marketing Board (AWMB) and their strong focus on wine and the culinary arts in the cultivation of the market. The collaboration has been recognised with the reception of this award.
Willi Klinger, the affable Managing Director of Austrian Wine Marketing Board, the organisation responsible to promote wine exports, is naturally pleased as he says,’ this important wine-tourism honour is our reward for the marketing activities that we pursued together with Advertising Austria, with the goal of establishing Austria as one of the most attractive wine tourism destinations in the world.’
Klinger is proud of the work done by the Advertising team. He says, ‘Advertising Austria can be proud of two further triumphs, in the categories ‘Best Luxury Travel Destination Europe’ and ‘Most Innovative Tourism Executive Europe’, bestowed in recognition of the innovative work of their team in the USA.
While Hollywood looks forward to the Golden Globes with great anticipation, all eyes in the American travel industry are generally focused upon the Travvy Awards. These are presented by travAlliancemedia, house organ of the travel and leisure trade, to honour outstanding achievements in the sector. Advertising Austria New York figured prominently in 2016 among the happy winners – with a total of three Travvy awards.
