Members of the FWM Club- founded by Dharti Desai, media and celebrities that included the former Miss India Shamita Singha, enjoyed a selection of Riesling wines from Germany’s Mosel – Saar – Ruwer region, paired with delicious Indian cuisine.

Welcoming the members and guests Ms. Dharti Desai, CEO of FineWinesnMore said, “The German Riesling has a reputation of being one of the best partners for Indian food. This wine features some of the lowest alcohol levels making it a food-friendly wine. We are happy to partner with the Leela Kempinski to show case the subtleties of these wonderful wines. “

‘Versatile and elegant, pure and focused, rich and vibrant, silky and Suave, intense and concentrated’ is how Craig Wedge, International Wine consultant and Senior VP for Business Development for FineWinesnMore described German Rieslings while introducing the Weingut Ulrich Langguth Riesling Fern Label. It was paired well with the exotic and spicy cottage cheese and mushroom starters and that gave an ideal start to the evening.

The richness of the second course, Bharwan Gucchi Kesari (Stuffed morels) sang beautifully with the Weingut Ulrich Langguth Riesling Kabinett Piesporter Goldtropfchen that had beautiful aromas of ripe Nectarine, and white peaches with subtle tones of honeycomb.

The evening had a delightful and delicious ending with the ruby coloured, Weingut Hans Lang Spätburgunder Trocken. With a strong hint of cranberries and red cherries on the nose, the flavour of this Pinot Noir was spicy with a touch of elegance.

Mr. Christopher Newbery the General Manager of Leela Kempiski said,' The Jamavar is known for its fine Indian cuisine- the experience got richer today with the fine Rieslings provided by Dharti.'

Part of the proceeds collected from the sale of dinner tickets was contributed to an NGO, Save the Children Foundation. According to Dharti this was the first of its kind wine dinner which would contribute part of the event’s proceeds to charity.
