Miazma Fine Wine of India comes in three variants: Chenin Blanc, Shiraz and Pink Rosé, costing Rs.1200. These super premium wines and the Miazma Fine Wine of India Reserve, a Cabernet-Shiraz blend, selling at Rs. 1800 have been produced primarily for the UK market, says Karan Jain, CEO of Globus Wines.
Earlier this summer, he had participated with his importer Inn Supplies at the London Wine Fair where he had showcased the wines. He has already exported 500 cases for on-trade market with 450 to be shipped in the next few days. 'We have already pre-sold our first vintage. In fact, we did not release the wine earlier as we did not have enough quantities.
Wines are available at the Globus Wine retail stores at the Oberoi Mall, Infinity Mall, Pawai complex and two of the Tata Hyper stores at Andheri and Dhaiser in Mumbai. The first 1000 bottles are being offered in hand-crafted wooden cases, laser engraved with company Logo."
The company had debuted in 2006 with a total production of around 10,000 cases, says Karan who is growing at around 20% annually because 'we want to grow at our own pace and produce quality wines only'. He has added Merlot to his existing portfolio of five varietals and is planning to release wine made with Symphony grapes shortly.
