Indian Chef Nominated for Training in Spain

Chef Saurabh Arora of Caperberry Restaurant in Bangalore has been selected by the Spanish government for 6 months training under the top chefs in starred restaurants in Spain, including Ferran Adrià of El Bulli.

Saurabh Arora who is the young Sous Chef at Caperberry, Bangalore has been nominated by the ICEX ‘Foreign Professionals Scholarship’ in world renowned restaurants programme for over 6 months.  - El Bulli in Roses on the Costa Brava near Barcelona, Mugaritz in San Sebastián and Ramón Freixa Madrid - from 12th September 2009 to 31st March 2010.

El Bulli and Mugaritz are rated as the number one and number four restaurants in the world respectively by an international panel of 600 chefs, restaurateurs and food critics put together by the ‘Restaurant’ Magazine in UK.

Abhijit Saha, Chef and co-owner of Caperberry says, ‘this invaluable opportunity is a privilege for very few chefs in the world. Saurabh’s training in these top notch restaurants will further enhance the professional and culinary capabilities of our company to create cutting edge dining experiences of international quality for our customers’.

Saurabh’s training under the guidance of three great Chefs Ferran Adrià, Andoni Luis Aduriz and Ramon Freixa should help him recreate some of their magic at Caperberry upon his return in April 2010 and will be a boon for the gourmets of Bangalore who are fortunate to have a world-class restaurant for a great culinary experience.
