This artwork is supposed to be a modern version of the glass made especially for the cake- loving Queen Marie Antoinette in 1787. Legend has it that it was the exact size of one of her breasts on which the now- outdated coupe-shaped Champagne glass was modeled.
German Designer Karl Lagerfeld's designed glass rests on a stand comprising three porcelain replicas of Dom Pérignon bottle and a platter bearing the signatures of the designer and his favourite top model. The creation is sold along with a bottle of 1995 Dom Pérignon Oenothèque, for a princely sum of $3,150.
Schiffer and Lagerfeld have had a long association with Dom Pérignon. She has been appearing in a series of visually provocative campaigns for the premium label from Moet Chandon Belonging to LVMH group.
In 2007 they had hosted a series of lavish parties for the launch of the Oenothèque 1993, the top cuvee from the champagne house. One event featured the official unveiling of the photo campaign by Karl Lagerfeld featuring model Claudia Schiffer in a series of photographs offering a myriad of fantasy women, with Claudia Schiffer in multiple roles. |
