Taj Hotels Group says Yo China

Taj Hotels group will soon make a presence in China with the Taj International Hong Kong signing a management deal with Cuiting Hotspring Hotel Management Company, according to a company statement on Friday.

Cuiting Hotspring Hotel is a subsidiary of Zhong Qi International Investment Co. Under the agreement, Taj will operate the 'Temple of Heaven Park' in Beijing and the 'Hainan Hotel' project.

The Zhong Qi group also plans to develop a 500 room resort with 40 villas spread over 60 acres of land in Hainan Island, the premium resort destination in China. The resort will be located 30 kms from Sanya City in the upcoming Xiangshui Bay.

A news report quotes company sources saying that 'the foray into China is part of the highly selective global expansion plan by the Indian Hotels.'

Taj International Hong Kong is the wholly owned subsidiary of Indian Hotels Company Ltd. which owns or runs hotels and resorts throughout the world.

The international portfolio of Indian Hotels already includes luxury resorts in the Indian Ocean, business and resort destinations in the Middle East and Africa, service apartments in the UK, a hotel in Australia and three luxury hotels in the US.

One of the Taj-owned resorts, the only 5-star Rebak Island Resort in Langkawi Malaysia, has recently been recognised for having one of the World's Top 101 Hotel and Resort Suites by the prestigious Elite Traveler magazine as reported in another article in this issue of delWine
