A dual, British-Australian national, Mr Hopcroft has more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, mainly in food and beverage and rooms. He began his career in England in 1978 and has worked at hotels in England, the Middle East, Australia and the South Pacific.
Mr Hopcroft spent his childhood years in India and is very excited to be back in the country. “I am excited about the place, the people are fantastic and I am enjoying every bit of the culture so far. It is with great pleasure that I take on the responsibility of my new appointment,” said Mr. Hopcroft.
Andrew Steele, the former GM, also an Australian, has a left a legacy, with a strong wine culture presence which included wines-by-the-glass at reasonable prices and a wine club to educate and get new customers and patrons for wine at the hotel. Mr. Hopcroft will, hopefully, build up on that established base.
Meanwhile, Prameet Singh Nayyar, the Resident manager of the hotel has also left to take up the new post of GM at the Radisson MBD Hotel, at Noida. No replacement has been made by Shangri-la so far. |
