Asian Wine Review describes this year's “Winery of the Year” as a wonderful story of true ambition and belief that great wines can be produced in India. With over two decades of winemaking experience and continuous improvements in wine quality under the supervision of the well-known French wine consultant Michel Rolland and assisted by a team of local oenologists under the French winemaker Mathias Pellisard, Grover Zampa has every reason to be proud in accepting this prestigious accolade.
Grover Zampa Vineyards (GZV) is by far the most awarded wine producer in India. The company owns wineries and vineyards in both the Nandi Hills in Karnataka and in the Nashik Valley in Maharashtra. The company claims to be the largest wine exporter from India to over 20 countries. As a result of this commitment to quality GZV won 111 international grand awards for 13 wines since 2013, from 7 competitions, across 3 continents, which is a manifestation of its unwavering fortitude. Last year, it won 21 awards at several prestigious events including the Hong Kong International Wines and Spirits Fair and the Decanter Asia Wine & Spirits Awards .
Asian Wine Review, the brainchild of the well-known wine journalist and now a winemaker Eddie McDougall and his team, has been instrumental in influencing consumer’s wine selection in Hong Kong while also serving as a platform for wine producers to achieve professional feedback. In its 3rd edition, several countries such as China, Indonesia, Japan and Thailand, participated in the Selection through blind tasting by a panel of Asian wine experts in the competition in which over 200 wines from leading Asian wineries participated.
Besides bagging the title of AWR Winery of the year, Grover Zampa Vineyards received 6 awards as follows:

At another recent awards ceremony, the Sakura Japan Women’s Wine Awards 2018, the Rosé also picked up a gold medal, proving the true quality of this wine. Sakura Japan Women’s Wine Awards is a unique international wine competition held in Japan, where female professionals from the wine industry unite to judge wines. In its 4th edition, the assessment was reportedly undertaken by 510 veterans, seemingly a very large number, in a blind tasting format hosted at Westin, Tokyo a couple of weeks ago. Grover Zampa vineyards won 4 medals at the Awards, with 2 Gold (Grover Shiraz Rosé, 2017; Zampa Soirée Brut 2015) and 2 Silver (La Reserve Red 2015 and Vijay Amritraj Red 2015) medals.
Karishma Grover, daughter of the Founder Director of Grover Vineyards Kapil Grover, and Chief Winemaker of Grover Zampa Vineyards, who has been awarded the Winemaker Award by the World Spirit and Wine Awards held at Hotel Taj Lands End on February 14, is elated and says, "We’re honoured to have been awarded and recognised at such prestigious international platforms and I’m especially delighted that our Art Collection Rosé has been given two such significant awards. Such appreciation only re-iterates our commitment and dedication to producing premium Indian wine that’s capable of competing on the global stage.”
