The ultra-fashionable - and ultra-expensive - jeans label Diesel, which is the favourite of Bollywood heartthrob Abhishek Bachchan, has launched itself into the wine business, reports Sally Easton, Master of Wine, for www.decanter.com.
Renzo Rosso, founder of the famous label, had presented three new wine s at Vinitaly, which, at over £100 a bottle in restaurants, will be as reassuringly pricey as a pair of Diesel jeans.
Rosso bought a 100-hectare farm in Marostica in Vicenza , Veneto , over 12 years ago. It has over 5 hectares of vineyards and olive orchards. Italian oenologist Roberto Cipresso, one of the world's best-known consultants, oversees the viticulture and wine making at Rosso's estate.
