Pearls Wines

There are several new entrants this year-the last one being Pearls Wines- a subsidiary of Pearls Infrastructure Projects Ltd. An initiative of a group of companies spearheading real estate development, the project has been launched, initially to promote Australian wines, according to Mr. K.P Singh, DGM-Marketing of the group.

Wines from R L Buller & Son Pty Ltd, a wine making company from Victoria with a wine making experience of 85 years will be launched at the show. Buller Moscato and Tokay are world famous and highly regarded dessert wines, scoring 90+ with Robert Parker.

The company proposes to launch the basic varietals including their signature Shiraz at the Show. The prices are extremely competitive and have a very good Price to Quality Ratio. 'We know there are many existing importers and it may be tough to compete initially. But we are from an organised sector and we believe that in the growing market, we shall have an edge in the long run.' Though presently dealing in Australian wines, the company plans to add other countries to its portfolio soon. Visit www.buller.com.au. For any business enquiries, you may contact Mr. K.P. Singh at kpsingh@pearlsinfrastructure.com

A Votre Sante

While Pearls specializes in Australian wines, A Votre Sante, another relatively new entrant in the wine field is into French wines. Says Lily Raina, the French born 'Indian', a partner in the company, 'we did our home work very well. We are working with French boutique wineries that give excellent products but are not very well known outside France . We made several trips to France before deciding on the portfolio. Many hotels have shown interest in our products and have already ordered wines from us'.

delWine highly recommends tasting her wines. Like at the other French stall of Maureen Kerleau at Domaines Maureen Kerleau, there will be many winners. And don't forget to raise a toast to her after tasting, by raising your glass and saying, 'A Votre` Sante'.

For any queries, write to her at lilyraina@avsante.com

While at the show, do plan to spend a lot of time at the stalls of big guns, Sopexa, ICE and Austrade with very interesting wines at Friuli pavilion from Italy too. A special tasting at 2:00 pm-3:00 pm by Friuli in the wine lounge will be a special attraction.
