Chandigarh will soon join the elite club of Agra, Jaipur and Jodhpur with a luxury train in the tradition of 'Palace on wheels,' reports travelvideo.tv. The Punjab Government has given the green light to a luxury train, which would cover heritage cities like Amritsar, Patiala and connect Kalka and Barog via Chandigarh from where it would head to Agra and reach Jaipur.
While these projects were in process of finalization, another luxury train connecting tourist destinations of Punjab and Haryana has already been started, announced Mr. A.K.Mishra, Tourism Secretary, Govt. of India.
At the Convention of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India, held at Chandigarh after 12 years, Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda stressed on the need of budget hotels in the state. Mr. Hooda also referred his recent deliberations with manufacturers of Skier Cars, who had shown great interest to set up a Formula One car racing track and other projects in National Capital Region to boost up the earnings of the state by attracting tourists.
