| Readers and website visitors of Travel + Leisure Magazine, the world's top consumer travel magazine, have rated Udaipur and Jaipur among the top ten Asian destinations. Bangkok and Chiang Mai, however, are the only Asian cities to figure in the top ten world destinations.
Bangkok's charms have made it the third favorite destination for tourists in the world, while retaining its title as Asia's best city for the fifth consecutive year.
Sydney , at No. 4, lures the world with its freewheeling lifestyle. Chiang Mai, thanks to its soothing weather comes in as the world's fifth favourite city, and Asia's second best city for tourists.
Perennial favorites, Italian cities Florence and Rome , still occupy the two top spots as the world's best cities, justifying the country's ranking as one of the world's most favoured travel destinations.
Also in the top ten list of the world's best destinations are Cape Town , Buenos Aires , New York and San Francisco. Beirut is at No. 9 - the poll was conducted before the recent devastation of the city by Israeli missiles.
