The Ritz-Carlton Boston hotel, the longest continuously operated Ritz-Carlton hotel in the United States, may be sold to India's Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces, according to a Reuters report quoting the Boston Globe.
The 79-year old luxury hotel, a fixture in Boston's elegant Back Bay section, is currently owned by Millennium Partners and is likely to change hands soon, the newspaper said, quoting an unnamed executive who was briefed on the negotiations. Millennium, which bought the hotel for US$122 million in 1999, declined to comment.
The newspaper said the historic hotel would become one of the Indian group's luxury hotels that already include the Taj Mahal Palace & Tower in Mumbai, Pierre in New York and Blue in Sydney.
