Spain's Wine Academy founder Pancho Campo has collaborated with the internationally acclaimed Flamenco dancer Joaquin Cortes in the artiste's shows in Marbella and Ronda. Pancho, who was a leading music and sports promoter for almost 20 years, had retired in 2002 to become the founder of The Wine Academy of Spain and to devote himself to his lifetime passion: wine.
Pancho worked with rock stars such as Sting, Pink Floyd, Jamiroquai, UB40, Tom Jones and Enrique Iglesias as well as with sports celebrities like Eric Cantona, Andre Agassi and Pat Cash, among others.
Pancho has now come out of retirement to help his long-time friend Cortes in his shows in Andalusia but also because of the artiste's interest in wine and wine culture. "We have to take advantage of celebrities such as Joaquin to promote wine consumption among the younger generations," declared Pancho. "Joaquin loves good wine and he usually drinks a glass or two after his shows." Pancho, Joaquin and some of his entourage enjoyed some top Spanish and Italian wines a few days before the shows and Pancho had the chance to teach the Flamenco dancer a few wine tasting tricks. |
