Chiara Lungarotti, 34, who runs her family's firm in Torgiano ( Umbria ), was elected Chairperson, Tourism Movement for Wine, by a big majority at the 40th Vinitaly in Verona , reports the Italian news agency, AGI. She succeeds Francesco Lambertini, who presided over the Movement for the past three years.
Lungarotti wines were just recently introduced in India and Sri Lanka by the New Delhi-based firm of importers, Sovereign Impex.
The last woman to head the Movement, an association of 900 members with cellars in Italty, was Donatella Cinelli Colombini e Ornella Venica. Chiara Lungarotti has a degree in agriculture and her family's estate is famous for its wine and olive museums. |
