The terrorists who perpetrated Tuesday's train bombings in Mumbai, India's commercial capital, haven't succeeded in paralysing the city and causing it to erupt in violence. The hospitality industry, which could have been devastated, was untouched, though a small percentage of their domestic clients did cancel bookings, reports Business Standard.

ITC Grand Central reported 6% cancellations, of which domestic clients account for 4%. "A clearer picture will emerge later this week," said Anil Malik, general manager of the hotel. "There have been a few postponements, but no cancellations," said a spokesperson for Hotel Leela. The Oberoi, too, did not see any last-minute cancellations.

"So far, the hotel has functioned normally. We will have to wait for some more days to make a proper assessment," said Ratan Keswani, executive vice-president of the hotel. The food and beverages business of Hotel Orchid, near the domestic airport, was severely hit, according to Delyse Braganza, Vice President, Sales and Marketing. "Even banquets have been re-scheduled for later," she said.
