As we had reported, Thomas Abraham is moving from Taj Palace, New Delhi, to The Leela Kempinski, Mumbai. We had forgotten to mention, though, that he was moving as Resident Manager. Abraham said he did not wish to miss this opportunity to move higher up the corporate ladder in the hospitality industry. He predicted that the average salaries in the industry were bound to rise by at least 50% in view of the major brands like the Marriott, InterContinental and Hilton opening their regional offices in India, and the number of hotels likely to go up in a big way. For the sake of our colleagues in the industry, we wish it happen sooner than predicted.
Executive Chef Ramit Wason of The Ambassador Hotel, New Delhi, is another Taj hand moving out of Delhi. Wason is moving to Hyderabad, where he's taking over as Executive Chef, Taj Banjara.
