ITC Hotels plans to open South India 's largest integrated hotel complex called the Grand Chola on Chennai's arterial avenue, Mount Road.

The complex, which is expected to open its doors in the third quarter of 2009, will have a 550-room five-star deluxe hotel, 100 service apartments, 75,000 sq. feet of retail space and 100,000 sq. feet of conference and exhibition areas. It'll extend over a million sq. feet on an eight-acre plot that ITC Hotels acquired in 2000 for Rs 800 million, reports The Hindu Businessline . The project, which will be financed with the ITC's internal resources, is expected to cost Rs 8-10 billion.
