Indian Wine Academy Live Tasting Theatre
For the first time at IFE India, the visitors will
be able to do live tastings guided by the producers
and winemakers or their reps. A specially designated
area within the hall will make it possible for the visitors
to taste these wines.
In these Guided Wine Tastings you
will be taken through different wines, learning of the
grapes, the region and many interesting aspects of the
wines being tasted. This programme has been organised
in conjunction with Indian Wine Academy which will moderate
through one of its panelists. There will be six 1-hour
sessions of guided tastings from Italy, France, and
Spain etc.
What is Sherry? What do Fino, Amontillado
and oloroso signify on the bottle? What on earth does
Bristol Cream mean, or Dry Sack? Is Fino a dry sherry?
Should you have sherry with foods? What temperature
should you store your sherries at? For the first time
ever the tastings will answer all such questions and
remove doubts while tasting a variety of ‘Sherries
from Spain’(a misnomer introduced intentially
here- Sherry is always from Jerez in Spain, and two
other cities around it- no other region or country produce
sherry. A highly educative session, that.
Walk the World of Wine
Only a limited number of visitors who pre-register
early enough may be able to taste some of the better
wines in the guided tastings. But they will be welcome

the due permission has been granted by the excise department.
They can taste wines from wines from countries including
Austria, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, England, India,
Greece and Australia. ICE (Italy), FIAB (Spain), Austrade
(Australia), CMA (Germany), Sopexa (France) will be

their countries/regions.
