Globus Wines Launches Retail Store to Market its Wines

While a majority of Indian wine producers are keen to tie-up with the fledgling Retail giants, Globus Wines, a relatively new Mimbai-based producer has opened a retail store in Mumbai to promote his wines.

After a tie-up with Tata's Star Bazaar, Globus has opened its first store at Dahisar. 'As per the arrangement, we're running the entire store and selecting the brands. We're also in process of opening up 75 stores in the next 16 months, says Karan Jain, the Managing Director of Globus Wines.

The company had launched the Miazma label 9 months ago in Mumbai and is the first company to enter retail business directly.

The store is small with 300 sq ft of space dedicated to beers and wines only. It is already operational and is carrying assortments of domestic and international brands.

'Miazma literally means mist and haze; the brand has a ring of mystery around its name', says Karan. 'The strength and exclusivity of our brand Miazma lies in its sheer ability to present a taste that matches the spicy food palate', he adds.

Miazma wines reportedly combine the Indian aromas beautifully to mesh with traditional Indian food that features the authentic Indian spices.

The company has also tied up with the research institute, the Grape Processing Research Institute which aims to build the country's winemakers of tomorrow.

The grapes used to make wine are grown in Sangli, Mumbai, Maharashtra.
