Boom Time for Budget Hotels

Ginger's not alone; companies like Accor, Sarovar, Choice, Pantaloons and even the Indian Railways have launched or are planning to launch budget hotels across the country, reports NDTV Profit.

Hotels that charge anywhere between Rs 1,500 – 5,000 ($35-$120) a night including taxes, all in the second tier cities like Pune and Haridwar that are close to big metros will attract the budget traveler. An example is a 54 room hotel in Pune that's a budget hotel but boasts of five star facilities.

"The hotel has 54 rooms with executive, deluxe and suite classification. We have two banquet halls, two party areas enough to accommodate 250 people. We have a fully equipped business centre working 24 hours, complete wi-fi in all areas. We have multi-cuisine delicacies from around the world," said," said Yogesh Dhiman, GM, Quality Inn, Pune.

After the budget airline boom gets India to its destination, its the budget hotel boom that'll ensure India checks in.
