Wine Travel: Birthday Bash in Napa for Rich and Beautiful

Here is a unique birthday idea for the Indian wine connoisseurs who never ever have to look at the right side of a Menu and don’t know what to do with their liquid assets even after doling out to charity. An extravagant party they can talk about for years to their friends awaits them in the heart of Napa.

Thomas Keller, the world renowned owner chef of Michelin 3-star Restaurant , French Laundry in Napa Valley has teamed up with the Poetry Inn and Cliff Lede Vineyards to offer “The Ultimate Birthday Bash,” three luxurious days and nights of wine tasting, gourmet dining and his personal cooking.

You can take your spouse and 8 other friends for this package of 10 for only $60,000 (Rs.2.5 million), air-fare not included.

You get five rooms at the highly regarded Poetry Inn, a dinner cooked by chef Thomas Keller and his French Laundry staff at Poetry Inn, dinner at Keller’s Bouchon or Ad Hoc, a picnic prepared by the Bouchon Bakery and 6 bottles of wine/couple. The birthday king/queen gets one first-growth bottle of Bordeaux from his or her birth year and of course there is limo service for all to and from the included activities. Details are at:

Thomas Keller is the chef-owner behind the French Laundry, that regularly ranks as one of the best restaurants in the world. A meal at the French Laundry is unlike any other dining experience. Part of its unique character has to do with the intricate preparations, often finished tableside, presented with uncommon artistry and detail -- from the food itself to the surface on which it's delivered. Other distinguishing features include the intimate environment; the service, which is formal, and attentive (one course, for example, comes with a selection of salts in a fancy box); and the sheer length of time it takes to ride Keller's culinary magic carpet.

The Poetry Inn is genuinely intimate hideaway. All rooms have great views over the Stags Leap District and Cliff Lede vineyards; the inn is owned by the Cliff Lede winery. Suites also come with private balconies, wood-burning fireplaces, soaking tubs and outdoor showers. Additional amenities include feather duvets, Italian linens, flat-screen TVs and complimentary wireless Internet. Décor is soothing and tasteful, with original artwork and a palette that corresponds to the outdoor setting. For further details,
