Grover and Sula exchange employees:

After Adrian Pinto's move from Sula to Diaggeo comes another big move. Nixon d'Mello who was looking after national sales of Sula has also left to join Brindco as its Sales Director.

'He will be looking after the total sales of Brindco group which includes sales of 100,000 cases of Grover wines (India) and 50,000 cases of imported wines', confirmed Aman Dhall, President of Brindco to delWine. Brindco, who recently bought a minority stake in Grover, will look after the complete distribution of its wines with effect from April 1, according to Dhall.

Anubhav Grover who had earlier worked in marketing in the Kolkata branch of Sula prior to going to Canada for further studies, had joined Grover in October 2006. He has left Grover and joined back Sula as its Manager for international sales, presumably to be based in Delhi .

Anubhav who had been beaming with confidence on joining Grover barely six months ago and had expressed his excitement to delWine for the wonderful opportunity of working with Kapil Grover, says it is a big career move for him, 'I received an offer from Sula which was too good to refuse.' Supposedly, he received a quantum jump in salary. Sula has been aggressive in domestic sales but with lacklustre performance in international sales.

Naveen who was with Grover looking after Bangalore joins back Sula to look after the national sales.

In the meanwhile, Aman Dhall who had perhaps been planning the move of his lifetime buying into Grover, is extremely gung-ho about the new dynamics. 'As the leading Indian importer with over 33% share, we plan to increase our market share both in imported wines and the Indian Grover's,' he added. He would like Grover to be in a firm second position soon.

Madhulika Bhattacharya nee Dhall, a career woman with years of experience in marketing, PR and Communications with ITC and Park Hotels has decided to end the self imposed sabbatical. She takes over the reins of marketing and communications for Brindco form April1, after a brief sojourn in Italy where she is attending Vinitaly.

Abhay Kewadkar, who left Grover last year to join UB, started the apple cart rolling.

Interesting times seem to be ahead for the personnel in wine industry with biggies like UB, Diageo and Pernod Ricard entering, to extract their share from the pot of gold. Stay tuned for further developments.
