Mr. Sushil Gupta, Managing Director of Asian Hotels Ltd., owners of Hyatt Regency Hotels in Delhi , Mumbai and Kolkata has been awarded Padmashree at this year's Republic Day Announcements in the category of ‘Social Service' .
As a promoter of Hyatt Regency in Delhi , he has had three decades of experience in the hotel and hospitality industry. He has been a past President of FHRAI and a Director with Tourism and Finance Corporation of India . He is currently the President of Experience India Society- a public/private sector joint initiative. EIS has been producing films on the ‘Incredible India' campaign presently airing in various countries.
He is an avid Rotarian and has been a Past Director of Rotary International, USA . He has also been involved in social service through Pranik Healing for a number of years. In a chat with Subhash Arora, President of Indian Wine Academy, Sushil said, ‘it is a National and prestigious award, which I accept with all humility. It is also a result of many people working with me as a team and I accept it on their behalf too.'
DelWine congratulates Sushil for this recognition by the Government of India. Padmashree is one of the Awards announced by the government at the Republic Day every year for outstanding work in various fields. Other Awards include Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushana and Bharat Ratna in that order of ascendancy.
