Fratelli had also won a Silver Medal each for Gran Cuvee Brut and Master Selection Red 2022, with a total tally of 3 medals.<\/p>\n<p>They have gone a step further this time- by winning a Gold for their top-end J\u2019NOON Red 2022 and 3 Silver Medals for Z\u2019NOON White 2023, Sette 2022 and their Master Selection Late Harvest Chenin Blanc 2023. All these wines were tasted on September 1 during the Summer Tasting at the 35th edition of the Competition held on 29 August -1 September 2024 (the competition is held for 4 days during the last weekend of August every year).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alessio Secci<\/strong>, the Italy based Director of Fratelli is naturally very elated. In a telecon with delWine he said, \u2018It is a matter of pride for Fratelli that last year we won a Gold with Sette at the very first Presentation and this year we have won again a Gold Medal for J\u2019NOON Red. Definitely, Fratelli red wines are now the most Gold medals awarded Indian wines in International wine competitions, as far as the number and consistency over the years is concerned. On adding a Spring edition, ostensibly to encourage entries from the Southern Hemisphere, the number of entries shot up, crossing over 12,000 in 2020 despite Covid-19. The total number of entries has been hovering around this number including another leg of organic wines.<\/p>\n<p>As always, Italy has been way ahead of all the other countries with 465 wines (24 wines achieved the highest award Grand Gold, 270 were awarded Gold and 171 Silver) winning medals out of a total of 1600 wines awarded, followed by Spain (278), Germany (192), Portugal (120), and France (91).&nbsp; The oldest wine producing country Georgia was a notable winner with 46 of its wines awarded, beating even Australia (45).
