IFE-India 2007: Curtain Raiser

Its curtains up tomorrow for the three-day IFE-India Food and Wine Show being held in Pragati Maidan where over 150 producers from16 countries will entice you to come and taste and talk their products. Over 60 wine companies have brought in over 4000 bottles from countries like France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Australia, Austria, India etc.

This year there is a special wine hall where you can taste and talk the wines with producers or their reps.Several country groups like ICE from Italy, FIAB from Spain, CMA from Germany, Sopexa from France and Austrade from Australia will offer some never-before tasted wines and regions.

At the Inaugural Ceremony to be held at 11:00 pm in hall 7H, Subhash Arora, President of Indian Wine Academy will present the current wine scenario of India. Sh. Mangat Ram Singhal Minister of Industries etc. of Delhi will be the Chief Guest.

India Wine Challenge

IWC: Final Judgment at the Hyatt

The final round of wine tasting for the India Wine Challenge was held successfully at the PDRs of The China Kitchen in Hotel Hyatt Regency. Over 120 wines have been awarded the medals. There were a few surprises and surely a few disappointments. The result of the first-ever international wine competition held in India, under the able chairmanship of internationally acknowledged wine expert Robert Joseph will also be announced at 3:30 in the Business Clinic of hall 7 tomorrow. The award winning wines will be on display in the Business Clinic; some may be available for tasting too. Details will be available at stall no. D-14 of Indian Wine Academy.

Guided Tasting Seminars:

This year we have initiated Guided Tasting Seminars where you can taste the wines of some of the participating countries and learn about their wines and the regions, without any pressure of doing business. Indian Wine Academy is collaborating again with the organizers and has organised the tastings, to be conducted in a special Tasting theater.

Following are the tentative schedules:

Dec. 6   2:30 - 3:30 pm        Seminar 1:      Wines of Italy         Register

Dec. 6   3:30 - 4:00 pm        Award Ceremony for the India Wine Challenge

Dec. 6   4:00 - 5:00 pm        Seminar 2:      Wines of France      Register

Dec. 7   2:00 - 3:00 pm        Seminar 3:      Wines of Spain        Register

Dec. 7   3:00 - 4:00 pm        Seminar 4:      Wines of World        Register

Dec. 7   4:00 - 5:00 pm        Seminar 5:       Sherry of Spain       Register

 

Subscribers of delWine are welcome to attend these tastings individually. for each programme. Seats are limited. You may also register at site. But pre-registered guests will be allowed in first.

IFE is an internationally repute exhibition with its spread in London, Poland, Budapest, Miami and Moscow and is inching towards being the best wine show in India.
